Science 6 Marker Mat – Inspired by @JamieClark85 revamped by @steve_sdavis
After the success of the SIXCESS resource produced by myself and @MrBAyres to help students prepare for 6 Mark Questions in science exams the evolution of the resources has snowballed.
Steve Davis, a colleague of mine at Clevedon School, spotted some awesome resources by @JamieClark85 and started to think how they could be adapted to be used within a science classroom.
Jamie had developed a series of overlays that could be used within an English classroom. Jamie’s examples can be seen by clicking the image below.
Steve did a cracking job with the content and visited me to add some magical touches! The pins icons, SIXCESS logo and certified stamp! A relatively small job but Davis seemed impressed!
The PDF can be downloaded by clicking the link below. Cut out the example in the centre and use as an overlay or laminate and use as it is.
Student speak exam command words descriptors.
Recently I have found that my students have struggled to understand what is required in their answer and end up missing out on vital marks. A common example was that students would produce a really good description of a graph but an explanation was required.
After a long search I came across the image below in our online OCR Gateway GCSE Additional Science Book. I tweeted it and it was an instant hit. This was exactly what I was looking for although not printer friendly.
So,using Phoster app I decided to reproduce these for a display in my room. Click on the image below to download them and help your students as well.
